On April 1st, 2019, The California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM, formerly DOGGR) release new regulatory requirements governing the operation of water injection wells in the state of California. The underground injection control (UIC) program is designed to comply with EPA injection management standards, and the CalGEM regulations lay out the requirements for permitting, drilling, inspecting, testing, and sealing of all underground water injection wells.
